Breaking Down Treatments - With Jenny Dayton
Breaking down a treatment and designing makeup for a fashion shoot
At the end of 2014 I was approached my a photographer to help create a beauty shoot based around the themes, Post modernism and Bauhaus.

What the Photographer Sent me
Research
Above are the images she sent me, a mood board of similar photography projects and her own rough designs.
She also sent me the name of an artist - El Lissitsky. she wanted to base her work around his. Below are some images of his work.
I also looked briefly into the Bauhaus art movement and found the images below.
This is where i took most of the inspiration of geomentric shapes and colours from.

Fig. 2.4
After initial research i had a meeting with the photographer to show her some ideas.
Points that came from that meeting
- No yellow makeup. She wanted only red, blue and greys.
-She liked the geometric shapes and allowed me to go ahead and draw up some designs.
For the final shoot i had to create 8 looks in 2 hours on 2 models. This was the most challenging part of the shoot for me, because it made me have to think about the order of the makeups, to keep application time down. For example image 3 and then 5 so that the lips were the same colour.
It also meant that i had to improvise a little on the day as some of the more elaborate makeups had to be adjusted to make time for everything.
During the shoot the photographer would shoot oine model whilst i made up the other.
It was a great learning experience, and i am really happy with the outcomes. Especially the bottom two photographs and i am hoping that they can be included in my portfolio and website.
