Dixie George- Specialist Practice

Model Analysis
For this project I am not looking for any specific looking model. My only requirements is that they have short hair so that I can apply the prosthetics into the hair more easily.
Therefore a male model is a more obvious choice.
I also wanted someone who would be comfortable in front of the camera, not necessary look like a high fashion model, since the context for my piece is not a high end editorial. But I need someone who will "Perform" the character and make my piece satirical, if they just sit in front of the camera without posing it will not give the message I want to portray.
Therefore I messaged the Acting students and Pete (pictured below) got back to me.

Name: Pete McHale
Age: 19
Acting Student
The first thing that strikes me about Pete is how young he looks, this is not necessarily a problem, the message I want to get across is how damaging our societies’ addiction to technology is. By having a younger looking model, it will probably appeal to younger generations of ages 14-25 and the people most affected by the new wave of technology that they are addicted to.
Technical Analysis
-
HAIR- Pete's hair on the side of his head is about 1 inch long, and a very dark brown colour.
it is maybe a little longer that i wished, but he says that he is going to have it cut before the application of my makeup.
The hair on top is also very long, this affects the design of my makeup, as i do not want to apply the prosthetic into this long hair.
-
SKIN- when asked the model replied that his skin was not sensitive.
However he has some skin irritation and blemishes, so it is extra important to clean my brushes well. And also be hygienic in application as well as making sure that the products I use do not irritate his skin.
This also affects my design, I will probably cover his blemishes for the photo-shoot. However I want the prosthetic to look natural and part of his skin, so I will probably not cover all his skin with foundation. I also really like the freckles in his skin, I think that I need to incorporate them into the application and the paint job on the prosthetic. To push my application skills, and make the prosthetic look more real and a part of his flesh.
Below you can see the Materials test I did.
I tested, prosaide, Latex, IPA, Pro-clean telesis and gafquat.
ALL TESTED NEGATIVE for reaction.
