Final Application

Before the application of any prosthetics, I cleansed my models face with Moisturising cleanser to makeuop sure any dirt or oils were removed.

I also fitted him with a gown for applicaiton to keep clean and professional.

Next i used the clean mascara wand to brush Gafquat through the hair, downwards and towards my models face. And thin i used Masking tape to flatten the ear. This is for 2 reasons. 1) to protect it from the prosthetic andadhesive. and 2) so that i have a flat surface to stick the prosthetic onto.

Also making sure to clip the hair away from where i was working.

For this makeup i used Telesis 7 to apply the prosthetic, as it is reletively heavy and needed the glue to be strong. It is also quite large so I didn't want to be messing around with trying to dry parts of the adhesive and have the glue folding over and accidentally sticking together. So although it is more expensive i think that it is worth it.

I also wanted to cut down application time.

Next I used IPA to blend the edges as much as i could. This was much easier to do on the face than in the hair. But i did it as far as the glue was down. The strands of my models hair alreasy partly covers it. But to add extra coverage i laid hair carefully and precisely over the edges.

i carry on blending the o=prosthetic and i am really happy with the edges, and also the colour of the piece, it is just a little lighter than my models skin tone, so when i paint the piece it blends really well into the skin. I painted this piece with only skin illustrator, and used the speckling technique with a chip brush to get the translucency right.

I then went over th epiece with a really small brush and added little details liek freckles to really bring his skin tone into the piece.

I managed to snap this photo when i gave my model a break, I think the photo below sums up the idea and the concept of my makeup.

Below shows the how the panel lights up in the prosthetic. I really like how it works, i think the shape and the brightness is right. and i fed the wire through his hair and down his back. In this shot you can just about see it.  I also like how the phone adn the veins all look subtle btu come together to work really well.

After I applied the face prosthetic, I moved onto the hands.  The prosthetics colouring matched really well with my models arm colour. The edges are almost invisible and I think that the application and placement of them is right. I did paint on the veins, but they were very subtle. In Fig. 31.10 you can not really see them. so I am a bit worried that the final images won't show them too well.  But i guess i wanted them to be subtle, but i am worried that they are not obvious enough for the message i am trying to convey.

Lastly below are some photos of my photographer Meg Clark taking the final photos, originally I had booked a photography studio to do my final photos, but unfortunately i had to reschedule with my model, so I had to take photos in Studio 2 with the white backdrop. But my photoshoot only lasted 10 mintues so it was quick, and i wanted to use a model who could bring the character the life easily, hence why i used an actor, and i have worked with Meg before so i know she is a really good photographer who knows what she is doing. So luckily this worked out really well.
